Agenda & Notes

  1. Prioritization of Last Use Case: Application Profiles
    • We had one ticket that we left as Proposed In Scope because we want to @awoods in the conversation before moving forward.
    • The extension model has a locked down version of the specification; that might be something to follow but at minimum we might want to provide a way to reference application profiles.
    • Similar to schema registry extension partially fills this role. This doesn't tell you where the schemas are and how they are used in the application.
    • Could an application profile be an extension? Yes and that could be a valid outcome of the use case along with some language in the implementation notes.
    • Decision: Mark it as in scope for V2.

  1. Initial Extension

    • we should take the suggestion from Simeon around language
    • we should also take Jurgen's suggestions about the first config change and the updated spec language.
  2. In Person Meeting for v.2?

    • pencil in thursday and friday at Oxford before iPres (Sept. 12 and 13)
    • we will confirm once there is a workshop.
    • should we hold an in person meeting to discuss v2 next steps?
  3. Community Engagement

    • Community Meeting -- there is a high bar for changes to the specification. generally the sentiment is it works, so don't fix it.
    • Anymore discussion about community engagement?
    • iPres (Ghent, Belgium) - Sept. 16 to 20, 2024 - proposal submitted -- no date as of yet for notifying proposers if it was accepted.
