🤔 if there is a "default" should there be a way to change it?

  • perhaps via a sysconf or something
  • or windows registry setting thinnggy (unlikely)
  • and should document it

Note as for TTL values RFC-1112 limits much of the value of such a feature. If these values are altered they should not be confusingly called 'defaults' perhaps take a hint from python and call them side-specific settings? 😵‍💫
