On at91sam9x5ek/at91sam9m10g45ek/sama5d3xek boards, we use the parallel
connection for ov2640. So we must set the hsync/vsync property (1 means
active high).
Otherwise, the connection would be seen as BT.656 or BT.1120.

When masking/unmasking interrupts, mask_cache is updated and used later
for suspend/resume. Unfortunately, it always was the mask_cache
associated with the first irq chip which was updated. So when performing
resume, only irqs 0-31 could be enabled.

Three audio pll clock nodes. It will provide access to both the PMC route
and the special audio clock pad on the SoC.

The Generated Clock has an additional entry for the audio pll.
Add it to the device tree so that we can choose it when using one gck.

No additional code is needed to use it.

This patch adds the i2s0 and i2s1 aliases: the I2S controller driver calls
of_alias_get_id() to retrieve the controller ID and eventually updates the
SFR_I2SCLKSEL register to switch to the PMC generated clock.

This new clock driver set allows to have a fractional divided clock that
would generate a precise clock particularly suitable for audio applications.

The main audio pll clock has two children clocks: one that is connected to
the PMC, the other that can directly drive a pad. As these two routes have
different enable bits and different dividers and divider formula, they are
handled by two different drivers. Each of them would modify the rate of
the main audio pll parent.

The addressing mode we were using was not only incrementing the address at
each microblock, but also at each data boundary, which was severely slowing
the transfer, without any benefit since we were not using the data stride.

Switch to the micro block increment only in order to get back to an
acceptable performance level.

Hi, sorry I've missed that usart3 definition was moved into separate file.

As for the size, initially there were just two of my commits against master. In the meantime master's been switched from 4.1 to 4.4, and git can't sanely merge/rebase between linux branches (at least by default), so here are 250+ commits now. Setting target branch to 4.1 should fix the issue, but this PR is closed and github doesn't seem to update list of commits any more. Though it worked for #19.

@alexandermorozov absolutely my bad about the "big size": It's me that switched from 4.1 to 4.4 and didn't realize that github would change the patch list according to this later action...

As Eric Dumazet pointed out this also needs to be fixed in IPv6.
v2: Contains the IPv6 tcp/Ipv6 dccp patches as well.

We have seen a few incidents lately where a dst_enty has been freed
with a dangling TCP socket reference (sk->sk_dst_cache) pointing to that
dst_entry. If the conditions/timings are right a crash then ensues when the
freed dst_entry is referenced later on. A Common crashing back trace is:

netfilter code as well.

All the vmcores showed 2 significant clues:

- Remote hosts behind the default gateway had always been redirected to a
different gateway. A rtable/dst_entry will be added for that host. Making
more dst_entrys with lower reference counts. Making this more probable.

- All vmcores showed a postitive LockDroppedIcmps value, e.g:

LockDroppedIcmps                  267

A closer look at the tcp_v4_err() handler revealed that do_redirect() will run
regardless of whether user space has the socket locked. This can result in a
race condition where the same dst_entry cached in sk->sk_dst_entry can be
decremented twice for the same socket via:

do_redirect()->__sk_dst_check()-> dst_release().

Which leads to the dst_entry being prematurely freed with another socket
pointing to it via sk->sk_dst_cache and a subsequent crash.

To fix this skip do_redirect() if usespace has the socket locked. Instead let
the redirect take place later when user space does not have the socket
locked.

The dccp/IPv6 code is very similar in this respect, so fixing it there too.

As Eric Garver pointed out the following commit now invalidates routes. Which
can set the dst->obsolete flag so that ipv4_dst_check() returns null and
triggers the dst_release().

As it turns out, this is because the i_itemp pointer, along
with the d_ops pointer, has been overwritten with zeros
when we tear down the extents during truncate.  When the in-core
inode fork on the temporary inode used by xfs_fsr was originally
set up during the extent swap, we mistakenly looked at di_nextents
to determine whether all extents fit inline, but this misses extents
generated by speculative preallocation; we should be using if_bytes
instead.

This mistake corrupts the in-memory inode, and code in
xfs_iext_remove_inline eventually gets bad inputs, causing
it to memmove and memset incorrect ranges; this became apparent
because the two values in ifp->if_u2.if_inline_ext[1] contained
what should have been in d_ops and i_itemp; they were memmoved due
to incorrect array indexing and then the original locations
were zeroed with memset, again due to an array overrun.

Fix this by properly using i_df.if_bytes to determine the number
of extents, not di_nextents.

Thanks to dchinner for looking at this with me and spotting the
root cause.

This patch fixes a generate_node_acls = 1 + cache_dynamic_acls = 0
regression, that was introduced by

which originally had the proper list_del_init() usage, but was
dropped during list review as it was thought unnecessary by HCH.

However, list_del_init() usage is required during the special
generate_node_acls = 1 + cache_dynamic_acls = 0 case when
transport_free_session() does a list_del(&se_nacl->acl_list),
followed by target_complete_nacl() doing the same thing.

This was manifesting as a general protection fault as reported

Remove spinlock and use the "rtc->ops_lock" from RTC subsystem instead.
spin_lock_irqsave() is not needed here because we do not have hard IRQs.

This task tried to open the cdrom device, the sr_block_open function
acquired the global sr_mutex lock. The call to check_disk_change()
then saw an event flag indicating a possible media change and tried
to flush any cached data for the device.
As part of the flush, it tried to acquire the super_block->s_umount
lock associated with the cdrom device.
This was the same super_block as created and locked by the previous task.

The first task acquires the s_umount lock and then the sr_mutex_lock;
the second task acquires the sr_mutex_lock and then the s_umount lock.

This patch fixes the issue by moving check_disk_change() out of
cdrom_open() and let the caller take care of it.

for our build, this is crashing at:

    circ->buf[circ->head] = c;

Looking in uart_port_startup(), it seems that circ->buf (state->xmit.buf)
protected by the "per-port mutex", which based on uart_port_check() is
state->port.mutex. Indeed, the lock acquired in uart_put_char() is
uport->lock, i.e. not the same lock.

Anyway, since the lock is not acquired, if uart_shutdown() is called, the
last chunk of that function may release state->xmit.buf before its assigned
to null, and cause the race above.

To fix it, let's lock uport->lock when allocating/deallocating
state->xmit.buf in addition to the per-port mutex.

v2: switch to locking uport->lock on allocation/deallocation instead of
    locking the per-port mutex in uart_put_char. Note that since
    uport->lock is a spin lock, we have to switch the allocation to
    GFP_ATOMIC.
v3: move the allocation outside the lock, so we can switch back to
    GFP_KERNEL

When IDLETIMER rule is added, sysfs file is created under
/sys/class/xt_idletimer/timers/
But some label name shouldn't be used.

It seems that when looping through the OSD EOTF LUT maps, we use the
same max iterator for OETF: 20. This is wrong though, since 20*2 is 40,
which means that we'll stop out of bounds on the EOTF maps.

But, this whole thing is already confusing enough to read through as-is,
so let's just replace all of the hardcoded sizes with
OSD_(OETF/EOTF)_LUT_SIZE / 2.

A deadlock with this stacktrace was observed.

The loop thread does a GFP_KERNEL allocation, it calls into dm-bufio
shrinker and the shrinker depends on I/O completion in the dm-bufio
subsystem.

In order to fix the deadlock (and other similar ones), we set the flag
PF_MEMALLOC_NOIO at loop thread entry.

Masoud Sharbiani noticed that commit 29ef680 ("memcg, oom: move
out_of_memory back to the charge path") broke memcg OOM called from
__xfs_filemap_fault() path.  It turned out that try_charge() is retrying
forever without making forward progress because mem_cgroup_oom(GFP_NOFS)
cannot invoke the OOM killer due to commit 3da88fb ("mm, oom:
move GFP_NOFS check to out_of_memory").

Allowing forced charge due to being unable to invoke memcg OOM killer will
lead to global OOM situation.  Also, just returning -ENOMEM will be risky
because OOM path is lost and some paths (e.g.  get_user_pages()) will leak
-ENOMEM.  Therefore, invoking memcg OOM killer (despite GFP_NOFS) will be
the only choice we can choose for now.

Until 29ef680, we were able to invoke memcg OOM killer when
GFP_KERNEL reclaim failed [1].  But since 29ef680, we need to
invoke memcg OOM killer when GFP_NOFS reclaim failed [2].  Although in the
past we did invoke memcg OOM killer for GFP_NOFS [3], we might get
pre-mature memcg OOM reports due to this patch.

reported by Commit eac9153 ("bpf/stackmap: Fix deadlock with
rq_lock in bpf_get_stack()") by Song Liu. The only difference is
bpf_send_signal() helper instead of bpf_get_stack() helper.

The above deadlock is triggered with a perf_sw_event.
Similar to Commit eac9153, the below almost identical reproducer
used tracepoint point sched/sched_switch so the issue can be easily caught.

The deadlock can be reproduced in our production system.

Similar to Song's fix, the fix is to delay sending signal if
irqs is disabled to avoid deadlocks involving with rq_lock.
With this change, my above stress-test in our production system
won't cause deadlock any more.

I also implemented a scale-down version of reproducer in the
selftest (a subsequent commit). With latest bpf-next,

  Deadlock happens on CPU0 when it tries to acquire &sighand->siglock
  but it has been held by CPU1 and CPU1 tries to grab &rq->lock
  and cannot get it.

  This is not exactly the callstack in our production environment,
  but sympotom is similar and both locks are using spin_lock_irqsave()
  to acquire the lock, and both involves rq_lock. The fix to delay
  sending signal when irq is disabled also fixed this issue.

Currently we check for is_branch_taken() only if either K is source, or source
is a scalar value that is const. For upstream it would be good to extend this
properly to check whether dst is const and src not.

For the sake of the test_verifier, it is probably not needed here:

The token variable in the process_dynamic_array_len function is
allocated in the read_expect_type function, but is not freed before
calling the read_token function.

Free the token variable before calling read_token in order to plug the
leak.

This is because we're holding the block_group->lock while trying to dump
the free space cache.  However we don't need this lock, we just need it
to read the values for the printk, so move the free space cache dumping

This is because btrfs_read_chunk_tree() can come upon DEV_EXTENT's and
then read the device, which takes the device_list_mutex.  The
device_list_mutex needs to be taken before the chunk_mutex, so this is a
problem.  We only really need the chunk mutex around adding the chunk,
so move the mutex around read_one_chunk.

An argument could be made that we don't even need the chunk_mutex here
as it's during mount, and we are protected by various other locks.
However we already have special rules for ->device_list_mutex, and I'd
rather not have another special case for ->chunk_mutex.

Calling btrfs_qgroup_reserve_meta_prealloc from
btrfs_delayed_inode_reserve_metadata can result in flushing delalloc
while holding a transaction and delayed node locks. This is deadlock
prone. In the past multiple commits:

 * ae5e070 ("btrfs: qgroup: don't try to wait flushing if we're
already holding a transaction")

 * 6f23277 ("btrfs: qgroup: don't commit transaction when we already
 hold the handle")

Tried to solve various aspects of this but this was always a
whack-a-mole game. Unfortunately those 2 fixes don't solve a deadlock
scenario involving btrfs_delayed_node::mutex. Namely, one thread
can call btrfs_dirty_inode as a result of reading a file and modifying
its atime:

To fully address those cases the complete fix is to never issue any
flushing while holding the transaction or the delayed node lock. This
patch achieves it by calling qgroup_reserve_meta directly which will
either succeed without flushing or will fail and return -EDQUOT. In the
latter case that return value is going to be propagated to
btrfs_dirty_inode which will fallback to start a new transaction. That's
fine as the majority of time we expect the inode will have
BTRFS_DELAYED_NODE_INODE_DIRTY flag set which will result in directly
copying the in-memory state.

Commit 3158237 ("ath11k: Change number of TCL rings to one for
QCA6390") avoids initializing the other entries of dp->tx_ring cause
the corresponding TX rings on QCA6390/WCN6855 are not used, but leaves
those ring masks in ath11k_hw_ring_mask_qca6390.tx unchanged. Normally
this is OK because we will only get interrupts from the first TX ring
on these chips and thus only the first entry of dp->tx_ring is involved.

In case of one MSI vector, all DP rings share the same IRQ. For each
interrupt, all rings have to be checked, which means the other entries
of dp->tx_ring are involved. However since they are not initialized,
system crashes.

Fix this issue by simply removing those ring masks.

During reboot all drivers PM shutdown callbacks are invoked.
In iavf_shutdown() the adapter state is changed to __IAVF_REMOVE.
In ice_shutdown() the call chain above is executed, which at some point
calls iavf_remove(). However iavf_remove() expects the VF to be in one
of the states __IAVF_RUNNING, __IAVF_DOWN or __IAVF_INIT_FAILED. If
that's not the case it sleeps forever.
So if iavf_shutdown() gets invoked before iavf_remove() the system will
hang indefinitely because the adapter is already in state __IAVF_REMOVE.

Fix this by returning from iavf_remove() if the state is __IAVF_REMOVE,
as we already went through iavf_shutdown().

The reason is that rcu_rdp_is_offloaded() is invoked without one of the
required protections on RT enabled kernels because local_bh_disable() does
not disable preemption on RT.

Valentin proposed to add a local lock to the code in question, but that's
suboptimal in several aspects:

  1) local locks add extra code to !RT kernels for no value.

  2) All possible callsites have to audited and amended when affected
     possible at an outer function level due to lock nesting issues.

  3) As the local lock has to be taken at the outer functions it's required
     to release and reacquire them in the inner code sections which might
     voluntary schedule, e.g. rcu_do_batch().

Both callsites of rcu_rdp_is_offloaded() which trigger this check invoke
rcu_rdp_is_offloaded() in the variable declaration section right at the top
of the functions. But the actual usage of the result is either within a
section which provides the required protections or after such a section.

So the obvious solution is to move the invocation into the code sections
which provide the proper protections, which solves the problem for RT and
does not have any impact on !RT kernels.

mptcp_recvmsg is allowed to release the msk socket lock when
blocking, and before re-acquiring it another thread could have
switched the sock to TCP_LISTEN status - with a prior
connect(AF_UNSPEC) - also clearing icsk_ack.rcv_mss.

Address the issue preventing the disconnect if some other process is
concurrently performing a blocking syscall on the same socket, alike
commit 4faeee0 ("tcp: deny tcp_disconnect() when threads are waiting").

The pointer to mdev_bus_compat_class is statically defined at the top
of mdev_core, and was originally (commit 7b96953 ("vfio: Mediated
device Core driver") serialized by the parent_list_lock. The blamed
commit removed this mutex, leaving the pointer initialization
unserialized. As a result, the creation of multiple MDEVs in parallel
(such as during boot) can encounter errors during the creation of the

Move the initialization of the mdev_bus_compat_class pointer to the
init path, to match the cleanup in module exit. This way the code

The lock is used to synchronize different sysfs operations, it doesn't
protect any resource that will be touched by an interrupt. Consequently
it's not required to disable IRQs. Replace the spinlock with a mutex to fix
the deadlock.
