Q: How to configure on Firefox v6 and older

A: Up until Firefox v7 there was no easy way of adding user-friendly options to restartless addons. To control the settings user must go to about:config page and type extensions.backforwardhistorytweaks

The following settings are available:

• num - how many items show in menu. 0 = as many can fit on screen
• overflow - if total items is more then fit in the menu, show: 0 = nothing, 1 = scroll bars, 2 = scroll buttons
• showIndex - show item position in the list index: 0 = don't show, 1 = before title, 2 = after title
• showIndexTotal - add count number of total items in the list (only if showIndex set to 1 or 2
• showItem - show items as: 0 = Title, 1 = URL, 2 = Title on hover, 3 = URL on hover
• tooltip - what to show in tooltip: 0 = default, 1 = Title, 2 = URL, 3 = Title and URL
• order - define order of the itmes: 0 = newest on bottom, 1 = newest (forward) on top
• showChangesLog - show changes log page after each update: true or false
