I've been using this for a while and I think it's really great, it helps me keep in touch with an old community that I would have a hard time connecting with otherwise, so thank you maintainers.

That said, feature request:
I'd really like it if it were possible to direct all notifications/some specific patterns of notifications to a separate channel. To clarify the use case of this, the irc I'm in has many joins and exits, much more than actual messages for conversations... As a result of this, I can't keep track of conversations because the notifications spam the channel. However, I don't want to turn off the notifications either, because I'd like to see nick changes (which I can get with the notifications on)... Ideally, I'd like to be able to set up some patterns to keep nick changes in the same channel and join/leave notifications in another.

Hey! I'm now only maintaining discord-irc for bug fixes and vulnerabilities, as I'm no longer an active user of the project. There's a pull request open that puts all notifications into a separate channel, which doesn't quite fit your use case, but you may find the code there useful: #515 (there are instructions on how you could run this yourself in the README – you'll just need to tweak where it installs from).
