@jcburley The fact that you're having trouble with multiple version managers is a clue that something is wrong with your development setup. You mentioned that you uninstalled and reinstalled Homebrew. Yet, I would also check your shell startup files (.zshrc, .zlogin, .zprofile, .bash_profile, .bashrc, .profile, etc) and remove any lines that modify the PATH or that set env vars that you don't understand. Here are the options I recommend:

Hey, thanks. Indeed, once I uninstalled Brew (again), re-installed it, removed the cruft identified by Not sure how those old So I'm unblocked. Again, thanks! As far as paying for your product: I was thinking it might indeed be worth it, and would have probably just done it if it was just me as a consultant. But I thought maybe another hour or two of trying things, based on what I was learning, might take less time than getting approval(s) and such for a purchase in our company (which is now quite large, since we were acquired over a year ago)...and that turned out to be the case. In the meantime, I learned more stuff, which is always good...anyway, your help is much appreciated! |

Hey, thanks. Indeed, once I uninstalled Brew (again), re-installed it, removed the cruft identified by
brew doctor, and re-installed my usual brew stuff,rbenv install 3.2.2worked great!Not sure how those old
/lusr/local/lib/libz*entries got there, but I suspect the non-symlink one looked enough like a real lib to "satisfy" the installers, but not enough like one to the OS when attempts were made to dynamically link to it.So I'm unblocked. Again, thanks!
