as this seems to be common practice to patch the encoding from latin1 to utf-8 as OpenLDAP returns utf-8 by default (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ldapuserfolder/+bug/1081149)

Yes, we decided that we want to improve LDUF to do utf-8 everywhere and convert in cases we get latin-1 in. So in terms of forward fixing I think this is the way forward. |
