select sort method per folder and recursively

There are only a few folders that I want to sort manually. The rest I want either ascending or descending sort.
Proposal:
Associate a sort method (ascending/descending/manual) on a per-folder basis.
When a folder is selected in the Sort Folders window, show the current sort status, allow it to be changed, but don't change until either "Apply to This Folder" or "Apply to All Sub-Folders".

Sure, why not, but it's a lot of work and I unfortunately don't have any
time to devote to this addon. If you're interested in working on this
I'd be happy to further discuss what is to be done and provide guidance.
