Set Up of Community

Individuals form communities. These vary in range of 5 to 50. The difference to classical communities as we know them are, that member share more possessions. Not only there flat or house but all kinds of devices, tools and food too.

Interconnection of Communities

Between communities’ knowledge is widely shared. Through open-source webs similar to today’s existing ones, only they will enjoy a bigger community.

We see that those digital created commons of knowledge are already very dedicated. From the biggest Dictionary in the world, Wikipedia, to platforms openly designing renewable tech to produces heat or electricity.

Reinforcing System of Common-based Peer Production

One’s people decide a life around those commons, they make themselves depended upon them, resulting in the growth of these commons and the accumulation of them (note that this is in contrast to the accumulation of capital in capitalism).

But physical commons won't be that open and free as the shared information about them. Because they work compared to the commons of knowledge not on a global level but on a local level. They will be designed globally but produced locally in communities.

Freedom of Work

Members of these communities produce goods in such a way to satisfy their needs. An important difference in how work looks like for them. Is that they're fundamentally free to choose on what to work on. Of course, some liabilities have to be made to ensure that the community can sustain itself, but this will be democratically decided on.

Financing issues

To get production going they first need a lot of money, where does that come from? A principle is reusing as much as possible, from junkyards, to-be demolished houses and other valuable sources of waste. Although this often means, having to spend more labour on it. But compared to the smaller ecological footprint, this may be in the end more efficient. But in all cases, outsourcing as little as possible, raises the independence and the need for money to finance purchases.

However, if there is no way of doing without money and the new regenerative system of commons can't meet the needs, dependence on the old world is necessary, such as having jobs to create monetary income or selling produces of community to old system.

Still the hardest part of financing is, collecting enough money to buy land, a house or a flat. Solutions range to extend community with people already owning such resources to setting up fundraising campaign.
