Hi, currently have a model trained, working correctly, with an user interface using Tkinter for Python.. im using linux but my target audience use windows so need create an exe, i already try with pyinstaller but doesn't work... any solution or option for create an executable app with a yolov8 predictor running inside... thanks.

ok. I tried pyinstaller+yolov8+tk on winodws.
when I install ultralytics with pip pip install ultralytics
I faced the same problem

requirements: 1 package updated per ['lap']

I solved this problem through the following process on venv.

1. install from source pip install -e '.[dev]'

git clone https://github.com/ultralytics/ultralytics
cd ultralytics
pip install -e '.[dev]'

current workspace:

root
├ ultralytics # (yolov8)
└ main.py

2. install pyinstaller

pip install pyinstaller

3. try packaging for generate .spec file (main.spec in my case)

pyinstaller main.py --onefile --noconsole

4. add ultralytics directory to datas

   datas=[('ultralytics', '.')],

5. packaging with .spec file

pyinstaller main.spec

done!

I'm having an issue with running an application in .exe format that i've exported. After launching, a lot of text appears on the black console, and the last line contains an error message:
Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: ''C:\Users\Wiktor\Appdata\Local\Temp\_MEI177322\ultralytics\yolo\cfg\default.yaml.

Additionally, I have a separate weight file for a network named "best.pt". Everything works fine in the project and I'm using the import command for the network:

The most stupid idea i can find, in the yolo install dir （likely in venv/Lib/sit-packages/ultralytics）, make sure the yolo/cfg/default.yaml exists, remember the absolute path.

Find yolo/utils/init.py, in about line34 change DEFAULT_CFG_PATH to absolute path above, official value
start with ‘ROOT / ...’.

I gauss the pyinstaller dont know the right ROOT value. If you need to move exe to another PC, this method will fail.

Hello, I've tried to generate a standalone .exe of my Yolov8 project with a Python graphical interface, but I haven't been entirely successful. When I create the .exe, a folder called _internal is generated (which seems to contain folders for each library), and without this folder in the same directory, it cannot be executed. For example, if I drag the .exe to the desktop, it no longer works and throws a file path error. Here's what I've done:

I installed the Intel MKL and MPI, some .DLLs where added, other .DLLs I added from the web, I searched from my C:\ drive on my Pc but there were missing, the .DLLs I have downloaded worked good but there were other .DLLs that was impossible to find, I generated the .exe and it was the same issue, so I tried to set up a virtual environment but I had the same problem to create the .exe file, there were the same .DLLs missing, and it was the same issue when I run the program, it prints the information but doesn't show the camera and prints the warnings (475, 487, 1768) , but it works without problems if I run it on Visual Studio, Python IDLE or Python from CMD, also I lowered some libraries version such as Pyinstaller, Ultralytics, and torch but it was the same, so I think it could be my python version, I'm using the 3.11.5, also I will try to run on other PC with python 3.10, what else could you recommend me?

Well, my goal was to create the .exe file to install in other PC, so I decided to create a virtual environment in the other PC and install all the libraries and run locally, then I created a .bat file to start the program without writing the commands on CMD, and I think this could be a temporal solution, and it runs very good, I will try later with other python versions and libraries, thank you so much for your support @glenn-jocher

Infact torch and torchvision does not support python 3.12 properly although my application work great in pycharm but pyinstaller couldn't package it correctly.
I installed python 3.10 and my problem get solved.
