📣 In-app Notification system not working #1667

We recently upgraded from v0.8-dev to the latest v0.9-dev release of Plane, and we were excited about the new In-app Notification system that was introduced. However, it appears that we are encountering some difficulties with the notifications, and I'm reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing similar problems. After the migration, we can see the new notification menu, but unfortunately, all the lists are empty, even after creating or making changes to issues, no notifications seem to appear. Additionally, the subscribe button in the sidebar is not visible and we cannot subscribe manually to issues. We want to make sure we haven't overlooked any crucial steps during the migration or setup, and we would be extremely grateful for any help or insights you can provide to get the In-app Notification system working as intended. Hi @tomdevelops, can you check if you there is any error on the planebgworker container. Also can you see the issue activities? |

This issue is created by you right? Note that Notifications are not real-time, you'll see a refresh button on the menu, please try clicking on that. Else, they'll automatically updated when you switch tabs/do any activity on Plane. It's based on swr. |

For the issues created by you, someone needs to update it, only then you'll be notified. |

When we updated a created issue using another account, I received a notification. On the second account, I can now see the subscribe button, and everything seems to be working fine 👏 🥳 I realize that the issue was due to my misunderstanding 😅 – as the issue creator, it makes sense that I wouldn't receive notifications or see the subscribe button on my own created issues. My bad, sorry for the confusion. Thank you for your quick responses and assistance, I really appreciate it! |
