          remove the bottom gradient entirely for now

now updated to remove the shadows, because:

the shadows imply a wrong hierarchy (with low priority on top)
we only really need the soft clip aesthetically at the top, not the bottom
having more screen real-estate is more important than the cue that you can overscroll.

End result looks like this:
