You can use John Marks' Eight-Five-Zero template to help Zim render a nice clean responsive layout for desktop and mobile browsers.

The Eight-Five-Zero-C is an adapted version of John Marks' template. The main difference is that it adds a collapsible navigation menu

Another example is the ecodiv export template. This is a mobile first theme, but it also looks good on your desktop.
