As a developer I would like to use the extension in combination with camunda-process-test-coverage and JUnit 5 while I'm programming Kotlin.

Yes, please.. The provided examples are not in Kotlin.

I managed to use it here in Basic / JUnit4 / Kotlin. But failed with the setup of @stefanzilske ... Ideally, I don't want to configure the engine via XML. Is it possible?

Just try to get it running in baseic-junit5 example.
