Build Status

An example of adding support for the X-HTTP-METHOD-OVERRIDE header in Ratpack.

The example contains a single endpoint at PATCH /api/v1/dummy that can be also be called using the X-HTTP-METHOD-OVERRIDE header on a POST request.

Running the Example

  1. Run the following command to start the application:

     ./gradlew run
    
  2. Run the following command to call the /api/v1/dummy endpoint using the PATCH method:

     curl --request PATCH http://localhost:5050/api/v1/dummy
    

    If successful, you will see the following message:

     Dummy Endpoint!
    
  3. Run the following command to call the /api/v1/dummy endpoint using the override POST method:

     curl -H "X-HTTP-METHOD-OVERRIDE: patch" -X POST http://localhost:5050/api/v1/dummy
    

    If successful, you will see the same message as before:

     Dummy Endpoint!
