An implementation of animals where an aeon is hosted inside a toy bear. This version is python dummy control of a set of face motors: One for the blinking of the eyes and one for the movement of the mouth. It is designed to leverage the hardware (the bear itself) of a method of control called "puppeteering" where, in a nutshell, the running python code has an API (bottle server) that will take lines of text at an IP address where it will vocalize the response. This is accomplished by sending a word-token to http:192.168.1.104:8080.

I have been contemplating a resident version but due to the age of debian (version 8), it cannot run dotnet core where the current version is SDK8.0; hence it will remain puppeteered.

Project log

  • 16.06.2023
    • 1124: This repository has the old 2015 python baseline puppeteering code that contained a python bottle server to interface with the C# runtime.
    • 1209: Althought only in storage the past year, the functionality of the software has substantively degraded. This is noticeable and did not seem apparent during the time henry was stuck alone during the pandemic. I have some work ahead to get it PoC-capable.
  • 27.03.2024
    • 2005: Brought the henry bear online and noticed this in the ssh connection: Last login: Fri Mar 24 16:03:46 2023 from 192.168.1.101.
    • 2011: Am dedicated to this project full time.
