Update on Buildah engine from ttomecek:
- Spent some time on it yesterday, made some progress
- That's pretty much it :D
- Right now I'm basically duplicating this function: https://github.com/ansible/ansible-container/blob/develop/container/docker/engine.py#L840
Discussion regarding openshift-restclient-python, the Python module that enables the Ansible Kubernetes modules
- chouseknecht mentioned that, in a conversation outside of this meeting, flaper87 requested status on tests, as they appear to be broken.
- fabianvf responded, "haven't been active on them in a little while, wonder if something changed. I think we were seeing rare intermittent failures that seemed to be related to test order or timing, could also be related to that. I can take some time this week and dig a little."
- fabianvf continued, "I think there are also some pretty high impact PRs open on the modules related to fixing ConfigMap and a few other resources that behave differently"
- chouseknecht agreed to take a look this week.
- fabianvf noted, "There was a change pushed to ansible-kubernetes-modules that seems to have removed the module code, which I think breaks anyone not running Ansible from source. Not sure if there's anyone here that can explain that change and if there's a way we can use updated modules without running from source."
- The 'module_utils' directory, was removed by chouseknecht, because it seemed to confuse potential maintainers regarding where to submit code changes for k8s_common.py.
- chouseknecht agreed to restore module_utils until it lands in an official release.
- fabianvf volunteered to be a primary maintainer of the openshift-restclient project
Update on, and Call for, KubeCon 2017 papers
- tima mentioned tha j00bar submitted a talk already
- the deadline for submitting has been extended another week
- tima suggested submitting talks regarding "more introductory hands-on topics on a-c"
