VI Messenger is a feature rich chat application meticulously crafted from the ground up, utilizing modern technologies to deliver a seamless user experience. Built with React, Typescript, Tailwind CSS, Zustand, Socket.io, Express JS, Node JS, and MongoDB.

Pre-requisites

1. Node JS v18 or above.
2. MongoDB - Database can either be configured locally or any cloud instance URL can be passed to .env file.

How to run locally

1. Clone this repository using git clone.
2. Navigate to the project directory.
3. Run npm i to install dependencies.
4. Start the server with npm run dev -w apps/server (using npm workspaces).
5. Start the client with npm run dev -w apps\web.
6. Access the application at http://localhost:3000.
