Missing Shortcut for Settings

After editing the home menu, it could happen that you deleted the settings item, so that you don't know how to get back to the Settings screen.

It could also happen that the script.skinshortcuts addon is missing or not installed and the main menu cannot be generated with the result of an empty home screen.

Do not worry. The Settings screen can still be accessed through the topbar. The icon for Settings is the one with the shape of a gear. The topbar is visible in every screen moving the cursor to the top part of the screen, or generally focusing on the first item of the left menu and pressing "up" if you are using a remote. In the home home screen just press "up" till the topbar gets visible.

Another way: just press "s" on your keyboard or select the exit item in the home menu and the shutdown menu pops up with the option for Settings.
