ATxmega384C3 with tft-dx50ip29-40 on BT817

Hey Im using the BT817q with the ATxmega384C3,
Im doing this for the first time. I used the Bascom FT800 Lib before but i need the unicode feature for the BT817q.
So what should i do at the first step? I don't know where to begin. I already copied the lib into my project → Microchip Studio and I wrote the main.c i get no errors → display on, but without the text.
i changed the pins like i had in Bascom, and made a new display configuration for my display with the same settings like in Bascom,
I dont know the Display name because my coworker gave it to me and I already asked for the datasheet, but it needs time to get it.

maybe im just to stupid to use the lib, but i really dont know where to start here. I need a guide at this point :/
Edit: got the datasheet for the Display its a "tft-dx50ip29-40", i dont really know much about the display but it worked with the Bascom libery,
Ig the problem is infront of the Monitor, i didnt saw a step by step guide or instructions,
Note: I changed the Pin config in the EVE_target_xmega.h allready and set up a new display and defined it in the eve.h

Is there anything else available for this "tft-dx50ip29-40" display? I never heard of it and Google does not return anything usefull either.
So I can not tell if your configuration could work for this display.
Is this just a panel you are using with your own custom PCB that has the controller and the BT817 on it?

I never really worked with any ATXMega as these were pretty much already were dead before Atmel was sold,
dead in terms of family development.

But first I would check if the SPI is really up and running with a Logic Analyzer.

The spi connection should work because i can turn the backlight on with TFT_init();
it turn just the screen from off to white in slow intervals.
i paused the debugging saw this:

The configuration really is nothing special, most of the 800x480 I have profiles for use these timing settings.
And Dither is not important.

What happens when you leave the while(1) empty?
From the screenshot I can not tell if there actually is a coprocessor fault or if you just happen to land there with the debugger.

Without the target controller there is not so much I can do.
I could take a look at a logic analyzer trace, from power-up to CMD_SWAP.

Den SPI vom XMega habe ich eben auch noch nie benutzt, der Beispiel-Code ist ja nicht von mir, ich habe auch nur irgendwo noch ein Eval Board aus Atmel Zeiten herum fliegen.

Zeichensätze konvertiert man mit dem EVE Asset Builder und stellt damit auch ein Flash-Image zusammen.
Sinnvoll ist da die Codepages einzuschränken, sonst wird der Font überflüssig groß.
Man kann Fonts aus dem Flash benutzen, braucht dann aber zumindest die kleine .xfont Datei im RAM_G, die muss man aus dem Flash vorher kopieren.
Etwas aufpassen muss man mit der Größe der Zeichen und wie viel Text man hat, das Flash hat nur eine begrenzte Bandbreite.
Aber das sind Details für wenn alles läuft.

Und mit den meisten Kommandos kann man dann direkt die Zeichen nutzen die im Font sind, CMD_KEYS geht zum Beispiel nicht.
Aber CMD_TEXT klappt einfach so - man muss nur auch zusehen, dass man den Quellcode in UTF-8 kodiert speichert.

In meinem Beispiel Code ist ein Flash-Image mit Font enthalten das man in den Flash kopieren und von da nutzen kann,
das ist nur per Default ausgeschaltet.

Edit: den CS nutzt meine Library ja manuell, also direkt die I/O, das ist in den Target-Files zu sehen welcher Pin da verwendet wird.
Man muss den Pin nur auch noch als Ausgang setzen.

1. Hab fehler auf der Platine gefunden messpunkt Miso -> Mosi & Mosi -> Miso war schon so verwirrt das ich was empfange aber nichts sende ist aber genau anderesrum.

2. Habe eine Funktion von dem Oszilloskop benutzt spi daten aufzuzeichnen und sehe das bei mir Absoluter quatsch gesendet wird
   0xFF 0xFF 0x7
   0xFF 0xf0 0x7F 0xFF
   0xFF 0x3F
   0x7F 0x7F
   0xFF 0xFF 0x3F
   wiederholt sich etc bis dann TFT_display kommt und es mit daten beschießt
   aber wieder mit vielen "F" und random andere zahlen aber von miso kommt nichts zurück außer 0x00 immer wieder bin am überlegen woran das liegen könnte versuche noch eine weile rum..

Sonst lass doch das TFT_display() und vielleicht auch das TFT_init() erstmal weg und schau mal, ob Du überhaupt was so über den SPI verschickt bekommst wie das gedacht ist.
Und wenn es erstmal nur 1 Byte ist.

jo kommt genau so ein bullshit raus wenn ich einfach spi_transmit benutzte mit eve_cs_set/clear hmm. Dann schau ich mal, ob ich den spi irgendwie hinbekomme.

Hab jetzt nützliche werte rausbekommen 0xAA ist so angekommen wie es sollte, jedoch wenn ich nur TFT_init(); benutze und die while leer lasse, bekomme ich über MISO keine antworten zurück:
MOSI: 0x30, 0x20, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
MISO: 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
wenn ich das richtig entnehme wird das so 5 mal gesendet habe es kommt nichts zurück und dann ist er in der while
also stand jetzt schicke ich eig die richtigen daten

meine Clock schwankt aber auch zwischen 15,6 / 16,6 Mhz
oder wenn ich clk_init(); nicht nutze zwischen 1.000 / 1.012 Mhz aber dennoch keine antwort

Hier ist ein bascom code der zwei variabeln setzt die irgendein Clock problem lösen sollte weiß aber nicht genau was diese bedeuteten hast du eine Ahnung?

Nur das ich das auch richtig verstehe wenn ich so eine Main habe bzw while bekomme ich einfach ein Black BG und White Font
"Hello there!" oder sehe ich das falsch?

Die Signale sehen ja grausam aus. :-)
Der Takt muss in der Init auf 11MHz oder weniger stehen.
Und das Paket sollte ein paar Mal kommen, bis dann der EVE Chip im letzten Byte mit 0x7c antwortet oder das Timeout durch ist.

Ja das signal kommt paar mal aber keine antwort zurück hmm. Muss schauen ich glaube dass ich irgendein problem mit der clock habe, beim xmega384c3 ist ein clock bug bekannt muss mich mehr drüber informieren _delay_ms war auch etwas nicht den zeiten entsprechend.

Zur info die ersten Befehle mit Bascom code:
MOSI: 0x30 0x20 0x08 0x00 0x08 0x85 0x91 0x92
MISO: 0x00 0x4A 0x43 0x42 0x95 0x91 0x92 0x00
sind die ersten befehle und geht auch :/

Den PD Pin verdrahte ich normalerweise und benutze den auch. Wenn Du den nicht angeschlossen hast kannst Du den ja auf einen freien I/O Pin legen, oder auf einen Pin auf dem eine LED hängt oder so.

Wenn das die ersten Bytes aus der Bascom Library sind, dann stimmt da was nicht.
Da wird nämlich REG_CLOCK gelesen und ich wüsste nicht, wofür das gut sein sollte,
vor allem nicht für die Initialisierung.

Und das auf MISO was kommt bedeutet der Chip läuft schon.

Der Reset ist doch in der Ft800_init(), Zeile 211:
Hostcommand Ft_gpu_core_reset ' Do a Core reset

Ft_gpu_core_reset ist mit &H68 definiert was sicher 0x68 sein soll.
Nur scheint "Hostcommand" nur ein einzelnes Byte zu senden - und nicht insgesamt 3 wie es sein sollte.

Nee, dann würde das GD3X selber ja auch nicht laufen.
Aber so drüber nachgedacht, den Reset über das EVE_GD3X zu machen ist schon eine blöde Idee, also jetzt auf meiner Seite in der Init.
Ich werfe da mal einen neuen Parameter mit rein, so wie EVE_HAS_CRYSTAL funktioniert. EVE_SOFT_RESET.
Dann kann man das in einem Profil benutzen oder auch mal über die Projekt-Einstellungen definieren.

Jo perfekt danke für deine Hilfe hast mir sehr geholfen, ist mein erstes mal mit einem eve chip gewesen deine Bibliothek hat mir einiges erleichtert, auf dem bt817 ging nur licht an mehr nicht werde ich aber Morgen schon irgendwie hinbekommen. Danke das du dir zeit genommen hast.

Und Assembler, yeah. :-)

Für den BT817 braucht Ihr auf jeden Fall einen Quarz, zumindest laut Datenblatt hat der den internen Oscillator nicht mehr.
Und FT813 ohne Quarz wäre z.B. EVE2-50A.

ok aber was anderes bei dem "EVE_PCLK_FREQ auf 0x0451" Flackert mein Bildschirm stelle den etwas höher bis dieser aufhört zu flackern,

Flackern kommt üblicherweise wenn der Refresh schneller ist als die Bildwiederholrate, ich mache den Refresh normal mit 50Hz, aber FPS sind 60Hz.

Auf den TAG wirkt sich das Drehen nicht aus.
Nur richtig kalibriert sein muss das ja so oder so.

Ich hatte vorhin noch eine Idee wegen des Problems das für eine Custom-Configuration die EVE_config.h angepasst werden muss.
