@wolph Do you know if there is an easy way to use gdate as default? This is how we do it with getopt, I am wondering if # BSD getopt works completely different from gnu-getopt,

The code for gdate appears to be correct, that would work on my system at least. With regards to a simpler solution, I believe there is one but it might depend on how you have In that case, this would work:
