Minutes

1. regarding Danny's Release update

   1. "Do we want to do a playbook release?" - Alexander will try setting up the playbook with the versions available in ISLE, and from that making a 2.0.0 playbook release
   2. Need to roll a new version of the islandora base box. We need documentation for this. Eli knows how to export a base box, but need to know what to do with it, (where to push, which credentials. Hashicorp?)

2. Issues

   1. This issue came from last week's meeting.
   2. Most projects make it clear on their "legacy" software that it is legacy, and how to access the new software. There's an example on the 7.x docs

3. PRs

   1. https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/pull/1879 - manual install - someone needs to look this over, maybe Seth when he has time and a computer that can handle running a VM. Revisit next call.

4. New idea: include a "revisiting tickets" section in this agenda.

5. Eli: What cool, grant-friendly things can we do with the linked data we have? How do we get that data in? e.g. a suite of tools around I8 support of linked data. e.g. Alexander's module for LOC lookups. Can workbench start helping us with uploading URIs? A module to pull in external data - e.g. from a URI, slurp from an open data source to display contextual info. Looking for partner institutions. Seth - a colleague at UNLV will be interested. Can you visualize, explore, discover LD? Alxp is looking to tie the linked data lookup into taxonomy terms, as recommended by Kristina. Kristina - MIG has some additional behaviours/use cases regarding how taxonomy terms work - e.g. automatic reviewing of data, pulling in updates, tools for managing term lists - lots of things that "maintainers" need and are often forgotten in light of shiny new toys (see The Maintainers esp. Information Maintainers sub-community

6. Alan - how do you review a migration? e.g. an OOM error meant not everything was getting in. How do you find orphaned media, or media-less nodes? Seth - same trouble, but did direct SQL queries, and array diff's to find what's missing what. Uses drush to run a script to batch of derivatives where missing. Will post in Slack. Eli - the File's "View" out of the box shows files as "temporary" if not attached to anything... files may live on after media deleted.

7. Alexander - discuss the ICG report? Not many of us have read it fully, but there seem to be lots of features missing. Eli - need for a "roadmap", we haven't had much direction lately. Rosie will bring to User Call, and report back next week.

8. Rosie - how can we make the docs easier to edit? Eli - Update the PR template? May be a lot of friction. Alexander - Can we reduce friction in changing pages? A wiki was easier like we had in 7. Don - list changes that need documentation before each release?

   1. Add a note in the PR template.
   2. Discuss in DIG whether we can change platforms to reduce friction

9. Community groups are asked to respond to the Leadership Group's suggestion to hire an ED. We are leaning to individual responses.
