In fact, Disqus has a plethora of inconveniences, apart from the aforementioned one. You may consult Pelican-Elegant/elegant#288 for more.

I recommend static comments, that is, comments rendered as part of the static site's content. Here're some ways to achieve this:

1. JAM stack
2. Netlify comments
3. Staticman

I only know Staticman, and you may refer to, say https://www.datascienceblog.net/post/other/staticman_comments/ for a setup guide.
