I want to know if refactoring AV1 in Rust has any noticeable improvement in coding speed.

Hello, I'm unsure what exactly is supposed to be "refactored" here, rav1e being it's own take on the AV1 format, but rav1e is currently noticeably slower than its two software competitors aomenc and SVT-AV1. It didn't use to be the case years ago, but development has slowed down quite significantly. It's not too far behind in efficiency and speed though, it holds up nicely psychovisually.
