Describe the Bug

Currently when a user canceled their billing agreement on PayPal, the subscription remains active until the next renewal fails and results in a "Pending payment" or "Failed" order.

To Reproduce

Subscription purchased with "WooCommerce PayPal Payments" plugin:

  1. Purchase a subscription and then ensure payment is saved in My Account / PayPal Payments.
  2. Go to PayPal customer account Settings / Payments / Manage Automatic Payments, select the saved payment and click Cancel button:

Subscription purchased with "WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway" plugin and then migrated to "WooCommerce PayPal Payments" plugin:

  1. Purchase a subscription with "WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway" plugin.
  2. Deactivate "WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway" and then activate "WooCommerce PayPal Payments".
  3. Go to PayPal customer account Settings / Payments / Manage Automatic Payments, select the saved payment and click Cancel button.

Expected Behavior

  • Payment is removed in My Account / PayPal Payments.
  • Subscription status is "Cancelled".

Actual Behavior

Nothing happens after cancelling billing agreement on PayPal.

  • WordPress Version: 5.9
  • WooCommerce Version: 6.2
  • Plugin Version: 1.6.5
