Yes, they are similar. However I wasn't stating the purpose of the thread clear enough. I'd like to use this thread to for condition checking within the _program_ itself (i.e. whether user supplied the correct file name, whether parsing result is expected, etc.), whereas #13 will should lead to a module that facilitates QA on the _data_. It will give alert user if there is anything out of shape, per pre-specified standards.
