impossible to dismiss notification

Steps to reproduce

1. Get a notification for a channel
2. Go to the channel
3. Notification does not clear, or clears and then unclears.

Note: this is not consistently reproducible. Sometimes it happens for awhile, then goes away on its own, and then happens again with some other channel or message.

What did you expect?

Notifications should clear immediately and permanently after I view the message that caused them

What happened instead?

Notifications either clear temporarily, or don't clear at all

Can most likely be related to the current problems. I would revisit this issue after the release of Element Web 1.11.32 and MSC3981 on Synapse.

This is believed to be fixed, please shout if you are still experiencing this on latest versions of Element Web/Desktop.
