Bad server response on any create

i just installed treopim 1.1.3 with the following command
composer create-project treolabs/skeleton-pim-demo treopim
and follwed the install which did not give me any errors.
i use ubuntu 18.04 lts and have apache and fpm installed and working.

the website does give me "Bad server response" almost everywhere on clicks to "Save" buttons.

is there any way on how to debug this ?
is FPM supported for treopim?
