Looks good so far- it might be fun to open up a program like notepad++ and see how many features you can implement- find/replace, duplicate/delete lines, leading/trailing space clearing, case changing, block comments, indenting, etc...

The frontend style is pretty simple, it might be fun to try out frontend design libraries like foundation CSS, Bootstrap, or a simple library like the ones in the list here

For the backend, it might be fun to implement versioning, so you can roll back to earlier saves. Maybe add a database so you can add a login screen, and multiple users. Maybe even save the files into the database. Maybe try encrypting the files so they can only be opened using your tool?
