Streaming Wallpaper

Lively can play video streams as wallpaper, simply drag'n'drop the link into the library.

Video quality can be configured in settings.

mpv player and youtube-dl are used to play video streams.

Not working?

1. Update the youtube-dl binary.
2. youtube-dl requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 to run, try installing it.

Updating youtube-dl

1. Download the latest version of youtube-dl software.
2. Close any running video wallpapers.
3. Navigate to Lively install location.

• For non-admin install:

  C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Programs\Lively Wallpaper\

• For admin install:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Lively Wallpaper\

4. Goto \plugins\mpv\ folder and copy the youtube-dl.exe file to this location.
5. Make sure "Detect Streams" is checked in Lively Settings -> Wallpaper > Stream
6. Simply drag and drop the video website address into lively window to set as wallpaper.
7. To adjust video quality, Lively Settings -> Wallpaper > Stream -> Video Quality.

Note

Currently video is streamed, its mainly intended for live streams.
