git not installed error on composer install

When I use the command:
docker exec -it docker-magento2_php-fpm_1 composer install

I get the following Error?

Installing iways/module-pay-pal-plus (1.3.0): Cloning c1baa7f74c
                                                                                                                               
  [RuntimeException]                                                                                                                   
  Failed to clone git@github.com:i-ways/magento2-paypal-plus.git, git was not found, check that it is installed and in your PATH env.  
  sh: 1: git: not found

Is there a workaround for this issue?
