currently some ldap exceptions (such as timeout) are swallowed and logged.
(e.g. Products/LDAPUserFolder/LDAPDelegate.LDAPDelegate.search)

on a timeout, an exception gets logged but the search simply returns 0 users

this makes it impossibly to distinguish between 0 users found or ldap timout in the user-sync script (see https://github.com/quaive/ploneintranet/issues/1480)
