How reliable is zfs send --raw on encrypted datasets?

There have been a few issues with zfs send --raw on encrypted datasets.

I don't know whether this is still an issue now.

This is a game changer because it allows me to send encrypted snapshots to untrusted servers. This is huge for off-site backups.
