When you add a custom action which doesn't have an icon (e.g. Reveal In Finder) you have to "Refresh touch bar" every time you restart IntelliJ/AndroidStudio.
Steps to Reproduce the Problem
Open Preferences > Appearance & Behavior > Menus and Toolbars in Touch Bar, add Reveal In Finder and Edit Action Icon and set it to some 32x32px icon.
Click Refresh touch bar (then it works and everything is as expected).
Restart IDE and you'll see a button containing "Reveal In Finder" in plain text instead of your selected icon (clicking on Refresh touch bar fixes everything again)
