On Arch Linux when the game is open and a controller is plugged in I can't move my mouse outside the center of my main monitor. When when switching focus to another window in my windows manager doesn't unlock the mouse. I do not have the problem with the controller unplugged.

This is a bug (or feature?) of the EGLUT Gamewindow system used in the AppImage, switching it will cause different bugs.
The flatpak version will unlock the mouse, if the app is still responding and not frozen it uses the third party GLFW Gamewindow system with other limitations.

Using the mouse while a gamecontroller is connected isn't supported as of writing and strange things will happen.
