Installing Copilot in Insiders can cause stable Copilot Chat to be installed, not pre-release

• Open a clean VS Code Insiders
• Install the Github Copilot (not chat) extension
• Copilot Chat is also installed, because it's a dependency. But instead of installing pre-release it installs the stable version, which usually can't be used in Insiders

This is what I observe:

• Installing pre-release version of Copilot extension installs pre-release version of Copilot Chat extension
• Installing release version of Copilot extension installs release version of Copilot Chat extension.

Are you seeing different behaviour?

When I filed this, a stable Copilot was the latest release, so I would get stable Copilot in Insiders instead of pre-release, and then also the stable Copilot Chat. I see why it makes sense to match these when installing extension dependencies, but I'd still always like pre-release Copilot Chat in Insiders
