Description

Amazon Connect User Hierarchy Groups have a dependency on User Hierarchy Structures that must be created first. This Issue proposes creating a resource for aws_connect_user_hierarchy_structure

Note:

  • There is one User Hierarchy Structure per Amazon Connect instance. This Hierarchy Structure comes with every instance and has 0 levels by default
  • There is no ID that is returned for a User Hierarchy Structure but since there is only one User Hierarchy Structure, we use the Instance ID for the resource ID
  • There is no delete API, use the update API to "empty" the structure
  • Create and Update will both use the Update API since there is no Create API (Hierarchy Structure comes with every instance and has 0 levels by default)

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • aws_connect_user_hierarchy_structure

Potential Terraform Configuration

resource "aws_connect_user_hierarchy_structure" "example" {
  instance_id = "aaaaaaaa-bbbb-cccc-dddd-111111111111"

  hierarchy_structure {
    level_one {
      name = "levelone"
    }

    level_two {
      name = "leveltwo"
    }

    level_three {
      name = "levelthree"
    }

    level_four {
      name = "levelfour"
    }

    level_five {
      name = "levelfive"
    }
  }
}
