  • Gitea version (or commit ref): 1.7.0
  • Git version: 2.11.0
  • Operating system: Debian 9

Looks like Installation from binary hasn't been updated in some time now and overall appears to be wrong. Sat down and took the time to see what would be correct and also noticed that data/indexers/ has no configuration what so ever and is just writing to the working directory. Would be nice to have this fixed to fit a more proper directory structure. Linking a pastebin below rewriting/editing some of the sections under Installation from binary page.
