We like to introduce the Critical Path view as an experimental feature. The feedback during it's initial PoC phase was positive and we would like to gather further stakeholder and customer feedback.

The branch for the PoC can be found here and we would need to integrate this work into the current version of Kibana. The following items must be applied:

  • be disabled by default and can be enabled in the APM Labs
  • released as Technical Preview
  • needs increased test coverage
  • investigate using a scripted metric agg to limit the amount of data transferred between ES & Kibana and CPU usage on the latter
