IPFS is blockchain based. I am concerned about the high energy usage of any blockchain based system, especially in an era of climate change.

Should consider if truly necessary before adding to the IPFS.

I think IPFS can be used completely separately from Filecoin, unless something major changed recently.

Which blockchain type you are mentioning is POW consensus in some blockchain. IPFS is different kind of that, it looks like distributed file system than traditional blockchain
