Just for reference following two contributions have been requested for compensation already in cycle 9, but were rejected.

For the PR bisq-network/bisq#3366 you reduced the amount from 1000 BSQ to 500 BSQ.

  • bisq-network/bisq#3352 - 500 BSQ (issue was resolved over an extended period of reviewing variant and sometimes conflicting points of view to arrive at a consensus - widely accepted resolution).

For the PR bisq-network/bisq#3513 you reduced the amount from 1500 BSQ to 1300 BSQ.

  • bisq-network/bisq#3510 - 1,300 BSQ (1,000 BSQ for discovery of critical "showstopper" bug and 300 BSQ for resolution)

Compared to other compensation requests the requested compensation is still too high IMO.

The two PRs above were submitted before our new budget was introduced the one below afterwards.

PR bisq-network/bisq#3920

The compensation for this fix based on my suggestion in the issue also feels a little bit high. Besides that as it doesn't fall into our current priorities it would be up for delayed compensation when we get rid of the fixed budget again.

Ah. OK. This is how the Bisq DAO works now?

Nothing has changed in the Bisq DAO itself. Anyone can still submit any compensation requests they want, and if the DAO stakeholders approve it then it will be paid out as normal.

However, the current consensus of DAO stakeholders seems to be that Bisq should budget and manage how much BSQ is issued each cycle, and that we should peer review compensation requests to see if they meet the proposed budget plans - see bisq-network/proposals#158

If you don't want to participate in this peer-review process, you can still submit your compensation request as-is, but if you go against consensus I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get approved.

Request not sent to DAO for vote. Please confirm and I'll proceed to close this issue.

The request can be resubmitted for next cycle.
