Short term action: list research workflows + DOIs to improve citation

How can we effectively (+ sustainably):

• list the research workflows available and whether they are operational on Australian research infrastructures,
• provide access to DOIs, and
• translate this to improved / easier / more straightforward citation of workflows

The Australian BioCommons makes use of WorkflowHub to make workflows visible. We have a dedicated space on this registry: https://workflowhub.eu/programmes/8#workflows

Some key points are that the registry provides:

• integration with git version control
• wizards to make registration easier
• the ability to mint DOIs

The BioCommons present the contents of this space back to the community using WorkflowFinder, which is a partner service to ToolFinder.
