Tool gets stuck and takes too long

I have two vector layers, one is a hexagon polygon like a grid and the second is a classified raster that I converted polygon (lets call it layer 2) for use on this tool. The tool starts and gets stuck at 23% and never moves forward. My hexagon polygon layer has around 1500 records while the layer 2 has around 95000 records. The data is less than 25 mb comined so its not too much of data. I clipped out one single hexagon polygon from the layer and tried the tool on that but its the same result, it gets stuck on 23% and never moves forward, even though I left it running for more than 3 hours. I have attached an image if what it shows in the log.

Can you attach the two layers for me to reproduce?

This is the data that I am trying. There's a shapefile named grid.shp and Data_layer.shp. I used the Data_layer.shp as input layer and grid.shp as the overlay layer. I selected the 'VALUE' as the field to average.

I am using this plugin on QGIS 3.18.2.
