I think it might be possible if I or the liquidctl team or we have the correct packet capture of the Non X version, FYI, I learnt everything from packet capture to writing this driver from the liquidctl threads, So you might do the same if you are interested in creating your own driver for the Non X version. I will see if I could get a used NonX version too, if I do I will let you know.

I just learnt that @aleksamagicka from liquidctl got the Waterforce 280 recently, I think he might make the liquidctl support the Non-X device eventually, please follow the development of liquidctl, I wish you will have better luck there.
