Persistent users

It would be really nice to visualise number of users that have ever contributed. Would it be possible to have an option where inactive users migrate to an area in the corner of the screen rather than fade out?

For me it would be enough to have an option --user-fade-out to enable or disable the feature.

Miss this too, but would prefer to keep the same concept as others like the file fade out.
Like:

-u, --user-idle-time SECONDS
Time in seconds users remain idle before they are removed or 0
for no limit.
