The "Minor Text Fixes" Release

New Features

  • The app now respects the Quiet Time setting on the watch; when the watch is in Quiet Time, the app does not vibrate to remind the user to breathe.

Fixes

  • Text used to change between breathing sessions depending on the language. This bug has been decisively squashed.
  • Minor text fixes on the settings pages.
  • The icon has been changed for black and white screens, no longer displaying a blank icon.

Issues and Plans

  • Make the marketing assets, as well as screenshots to prepare for Appstore submission.
  • Thanks to /u/dryingsocks for making sure that the app accurately displays the heart rate on the main screen.

The "Back (but not To The Future)" Release

New Features

  • Back button now returns you to the main menu, rather than throwing you out of the app.

Issues and Plans

  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.

The "My Wrist Hurts Now" Release

I got some feedback that the vibration was a little bit too much, so that's an option now. Woo!

New Features

  • Choice of having default vibration (like previous), or simple (double tap on inhale/exhale)
  • Choice of having step count, heart rate (if heart rate enabled watch), or simple text greeting in main menu.

Issues and Plans

  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.
  • Change back button behaviour to go back to main screen, rather than quit the app.

The "First Snow" Release

Winter was coming, and winter is now here. Like the small, delicate snowflakes that start falling and stop falling in fits and starts, this app now allows you to breathe at different rates. Unlike the small, delicate snowflakes, your breaths do not cover most of the landscape outside my window. That would be strange.

New Features

  • Choose how many breaths to take each minute!

Issues and Plans

  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.

The "Please Stop Draining My Battery" Release

New Features

  • The app now closes by itself if the user does not interact with it for 30 seconds after it wakes up for a reminder. This prevents the app from draining battery by drawing and redrawing the alarm clock if the user forgets about the reminder on their wrist.
  • Beta testers' names have been added into the settings section of the app.

Issues and Plans

  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.

The "Housekeeping" Release

New Features

  • Users can now select at what time the reminders start occurring. Previously, this was fixed to start at 8AM; now, it is configurable to start from 6AM to 10AM.

Fixes

  • Pebble Time Round step count no longer runs off the screen (see what I did there? Step count, run? Har har.)
  • Spanish and French text no longer opens on a second line.
  • Breathing past 12:00AM should no longer carry over the previous day's breathing minutes.
  • Users who haven't breathed with the app now see "Last session: 0 minutes" instead of Last session: 1 minute" in the AppGlance text.
  • The next wakeup time is now logged for troubleshooting.

Issues and Plans

  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.

The "Not Basalt" Release

Because majority of the changes and fixes aren't for Basalt!

New Features

  • There is now the option to remember the duration of the last breathing session; when launching the app again, this value is read from persistent storage and is set to the number of minutes to breathe.
  • Additional intervals for hours between reminders. New are every hour and every three hours.

Fixes

  • The Pebble Time Round interface has been overhauled and beautified. Text no longer runs off the screen or clips through other UI elements. The side circle to indicate more content is also enlarged to fit how Pebble OS does it in other places.
  • The Pebble Time 2 interface has been rejiggered to accommodate for higher DPI. Font size is now larger across the app. The side circle has also been enlarged and its position has been shifted.
  • The Pebble Classic/Steel have had their upper text greeting fixed. It broke for some reason last update.

Issues and Plans

  • Allow user to set when to start reminders, instead of hard-coding it to start and end at 8AM and 8PM, respectively.
  • Beta test on all the hardwares, especially Pebble 2. Still haven't been able to check whether heart rate works.

The "App Glance" Release

New Features

  • The app now integrates with the Pebble launcher to show how many minutes you've breathed today, using the AppGlance API.
  • Users are now prompted to breathe in as the circle expands rather than contracts. Apparently the way I had it before was really confusing. 🤷
  • Minor text fixes. (Some Spanish grammar issues and missing accents have been fixed.)

Issues and Plans

  • Ensure compatibility with Chalk, Diorite, and Emery. Don't have the hardware to test, so will have to rely on emulator.
