API Downtime

Hey, I notice this API has a lot of downtime and while this is open source, I dont think the full collection of images is.
Is there any way i could selfhost everything, or is there a way to help mitigate these issues that are causing so much downtime?
I'd love to use this api more but it seems every few days I get a ton of 5xx errors

[UPDATE]: the api is working again, so close this issue.

Not closing this yet, this downtime prompted my issue but my question is about the general issue. There is downtime nearly every week from my experience. Mostly short lasting, but it'd still be great if the uptime could be improved!
