I can't remember the meter calculation there, but it should be a translation from the line

return [-160, -80.0, 0.0, 80.0] # Reference extents

However the true source would be to reference the extents presented by GOES16 satellite. The modeling team at Solcast would be better able to answer this question. Ask your question on the forums to get the reasoning behind these extents.
