Malformed URI error thrown in the autolinker library

I've received an issue report from one of my users: mulesoft/api-console#528
The issue is with an error that is throwing in the autolinker library.
Possibly the library is missing the try/catch block somewhere where it parses the URL found in the code. Is this something you can work with?

When do you plan to make a new release? (more or less) Bower won't update the library unless it's released.
