Instead of tctlk just use file.choose() #37

The library tctlk is sometimes problematic on Mac. Also, there doesn't seem to be a specific reason to choose this library over the base R functions

Implement some safeguards that tk_choose does have and file.choose doesn't:

+1 ... on my Mac, checkPDF() indeed just fails rather than bringing up a selector.
